VH2H – Head to Head Betting

At Morphettville, it is the states biggest race of the year – The Group 1 Goodwood. There are also four accompanying Group 3 races for the day. Over in WA, there is a Group 3 Race and then on the Friday it is the Group 3 Scone Cup……

The Doomben 10,000 was first run in 1933 and was won by Wallun. It was originally known as the Doomben Newmarket Handicap (1933-1945). It was changed to the Doomben 10,000 in 1946 when 10,000 pounds in prize money was on offer and at this time it was the richest sprint race in Australia. The Doomben 10,000 is run over 1,200m under Weight For Age conditions and has been a Group 1 race since 1980. The race was reduced from its traditional 1,350m with a revamp of the carnival becoming the first of the Brisbane Winter Carnival sprints in 2017. Notable winners of the Doomben 10,000 include Bernborough (1946), Aquanita (1961), Winfreux (1965), Black Onyx (1969/70), Baguette (1971), Maybe Mahal (1977), Manikato (1979), Campaign King (1988), Prince Trialia (1990/91), Chief De Beers (1995/98), Falvelon (2001/02), Bel Esprit (2003), Takeover Target (2007), Apache Cat (2008/09), Hot Danish (2010), Boban (2015), Redzel (2017) and English (2018). T.J. Smith is the most successful Trainer with six wins and Jockey George Moore has five wins…..

With an emphasis on Horse Racing solely we are the Old Fashioned type of Bookmakers (four generations going back to 1941) concentrating purely on Horse Racing, no Sports, Harness or Greyhounds .
