Geoffrey Higgins a jockey and the brother to the Famous twice Melbourne Cup winning jockey Roy Higgins, was way down on his luck. He is walking down the road next to Caulfield Race Track leading a racehorse when he bumps into a friend. “What are you planning to do with that Old Nag?” his mate asks Geoffrey. “Race it,” replies the Geoffrey the jockey. He was quite surprised by the question. “Well, by the look of it,” the man says, “You’ll win!”

VICBET H2H Betting is available every race in two groups of three. It is the three Favourites (1st, 2nd and 3rd) combined in one H2H outcome and the second H2H is the 4th, 5th and 6th Favourites combined, excluding the Fav if it is Odds-on (under $2). This is a moving dynamic market so as the odds change for the actual race the odds will change for the H2H outcome. Also, you can pick your own H2H outcome, then simply go to our Live Chat or WhatsApp Tim Cleary (0433-339347) and he will price up for you, this can be in a group of two or three, max wager is $100 when he does this……This is a novelty bet type so it is for the small players……

It was a great day of Racing last week and it is an even better day this upcoming Saturday. It is headed by the Group 1 Winx Stakes at Randwick, as well as a Group 2 and two Group 3 Races…..

People often ask me the biggest bet I have taken in the journey since 1992. For dollar mount it was on Black Caviar in the Group 2 Australia Stakes in Jan 2012. She was $1.03 (33/1 on) into $1.02 (50/1 on) on this particular day and won by four lengths in a field of seven. A Client from Singapore had $500k at $1.03 to win $15k, needless to say I was hoping she put her foot in a hole but didn’t hurt herself or Luke Nolen. The Winx Stakes – formerly known as the Warwick Stakes – is one of the country’s newest Group 1 races upgraded from its previous Group 2 status for the first time in 2018 and renamed in honour of the world’s best mare – Winx. The Royal Randwick race is held at the very start of the esteemed Sydney Spring Racing Carnival giving Sydney bragging rights to the opening Group 1 race of the Spring since the upgrade. The feature event of Winx Stakes Day, the race is run over 1,400m under weight-for-age (WFA) conditions and the prize money was doubled from $250,000 to $500,000 for the first time in 2018. Runners in the Winx Stakes may have previously competed in the Group 3 Missile Stakes (1,100m), another weight-for-age event at Randwick two weeks prior. The race’s now namesake Winx won the race first-up in 2016, again in 2017 and then became a three-time champion of the event in 2018 shortly before she retired from racing. As much as it is great to honour Winx with a race in her honour I am a Traditionalist and prefer the original name. This race has been known as the Warwick Stakes since 1923 and some famous winners include Amounis (1930), Flight (1944), Bernborough (1946), Tulloch (1957), Kingston Town (1980, 81 and 82), Super Impose (1990 and 91), Shaftesbury Avenue (1992), Sunline (1999), Lonhro (2001 and 2003), Winx (2016, 17 and 2018) and Verry Eleegant (2020)…
