Golf Dilemma
Randall and Mark K were playing in the Final of the Club Championship Tournament at Royal Melbourne one beautiful Spring Sunday afternoon. The match was halved at the end of 17 holes. Randall and Mark K move to the 18th hole on the West Course, a 396 metre par 4 and Randall had the honor, he hit his ball a nice 275 yards to the middle of the fairway, leaving a simple six iron to the pin. Mark K then hits his ball lofting it deep into the woods to the right of the fairway. Being the true golfing gentleman that Randall is, he helps Mark K look for his ball. Just before the permitted five minute search period ends, Mark K says: “Go ahead Randall and hit your second shot and if I don’t find mine in time, I’ll concede the match”
Randall hits his ball landing it on the green stopping about 10 feet from the pin. He is very pleased with himself. About the time Randall’s ball comes to rest safely on the green, he hears Mark K exclaim in a loud voice from deep in the woods, “l found it! “The second sound Randall hears is a loud click, the sound of a club striking a golf ball hard and the ball comes sailing out of the woods and lands on the green, stopping no more than five inches from the pin. Now here is the ethical dilemma: Does Randall pull the cheating bastard Mark K’s ball out of his pocket and confront him with it or does he keep his mouth shut?
