Back in 1988 the champion Cox Plate winner and Melbourne Cup runner up Super Impose won the race. Magnolia Hall(1990) went on to run 3rd in a Melbourne Cup. In 2005 Caulfield Cup Runner up Aqua D’Amore was the Summer Cup winner.
