The first massive day of the Caulfield Carnival has concluded with punters coming out well on top on Caulfield Guineas day with no less than 7 of 10 favourites saluting!
And with the heavily backed He’s Our Rokkii and Star Turn winning the last two races, some Bookies will be lucky to be able to pay their electricity bills this week! And we all know how sympathetic the punters will be to their plights!
This week the focus is on the $3 Million Group 1 Caulfield Cup with race favourite Jameka aiming to be the first mare to salute since Southern Speed in 2011. Punters are looking for a repeat of last years result which saw Mongolian Khan salute as the $5 favourite.
Support races on Cup day include the Group 3 Ethereal Stakes, Group 3 Ladbrokes Classic, Group 3 Coongy Stakes, Group 2 Tristarc Stakes, Group 2 Caulfield Sprint and Group 3 Moonga Stakes.
We also have City Tattersals Club day at Randwick with the Group 3 Nivison Stakes for mares and three other listed races. At Morphettville we also have the Listed Durbridge Stakes.
Stick around later in the day for a fantastic Group 3 Northerly Stakes to kick off racing at Ascot for the season in Perth. Including the return of Group 1 winners Pornichet and Perfect Reflection.
We also are fielding on all Sunday meetings again this week including Echuca and Warrnambool in Victoria.
